Description
Opening in 2017, Torabhaig is only the second distillery to open on the Island of Skye. The Allt Gleann is part of their legacy series, and the first release of three whiskies that are meant to establish the house style of Torabhaig. Alt Gleann is characterized by smoke and brine. A robustly peated spirit with a deceptively refined palate, resulting in a complex and characterful martime whisky.
Heavily peated single malt made with a mix of Concerto and Laureate malted barley at 77 PPM. Fermented with Pinnacle MG+ and Safspirit M-1 yests. Aged in first-fill bourbon and re-fill whisky barrels. Bottled at 46% with no chill-filtration, or colouring added.
