• Produced by the small, family-owned Destileria la Fortuna, Tequila Herencia Mexicana 100 % Blue Agave is a premium tequila made in the traditional way.  The distillery, which is from the 19th century, preserves and uses the original brick oven where the agave is slowly cooked for at least 48 hours.  Tequila Herencia starts with the careful selection of blue agave plants, sourced from the Jalisco Highlands.  In this area, the agave plants benefit from hot and sunny dry periods, followed by heavy rainy seasons, and a fertile soil, high in minerals, which produces richer and higher quality agaves, taking 7 to 10 years to reach full maturity.  The blanco offers citrus notes of key lime and orange, with and herbal peppermint undertone.  The palate is peppery and bright, with subtle flavors of roasted agave.
