Description
  • El Mero Mero means “best of the best” or “the bomb” if you’re still living that 90’s life.  San Dionisio, where the mezcal is produced, is a municipality just south of Matatlan and west of San Baltazar. This tepeztate is wild and was harvested at 25 years, the point at which it reached maturity. Think about that for a second, 25 years! Savor these bottles while they’re around, because while the mezcal business is booming, the wild agave population is dwindling and will continue to do so. An aromatic nose, with sharp, green notes and subtle hints of underripe stonefruit. A big, savory palate with spring onion and fresh garlic. Let it sit for a few minutes, return to find a ripe pear eau de vie and a crisp minerality. Very complex, with a dry finish that’s a clear marker of the producer and terroir.
