This Irish copper pot distilled gin is made with 12 botanicals, most notably Gunpowder tea leaves. Gunpowder Tea, usually made with Chinese grown green tea, gets its name from each tea leaf having been rolled into a small ball, reminiscent of gunpowder. The botanicals are separated, with the sturdiest going into the copper pot, including the juniper, orris root and caraway seed. The most fragile are placed in the vapor basket to preserve their flavor, like kaffir lime and Gunpowder tea.
