Description
  • This delightful blend of 6 different agaves. Barril, Bicuishe, Coyote, Madre Cuishe, Mexicano, and Espadin. This is the first release from the Comunidad series which is brought to us by Craft Distillers. The same folks behind some of our favorite labels such as Alipus and Mezcalero.

Distilled by maestro mezcalero Alberto Ortiz, or Don Beto as he is known throughout the tiny village of Miahuatlan. Famed for having both iron rich ferriferous, and chalky, white, calciferous soils, the mezcals from Miahuatlan have very strong earth and mineral driven flavors to them.

Pit roasted agaves are crushed by hand using small malletts called mazos, before being wild fermented in open top cypress vats. It then goes through two distillations on a 350-liter copper pot still. This mezcal is characterised by a floral nose, with hints of tropical fruit, citrus, sarsaparilla, and earthy clay on the finish.
