Craigallachie-Glenlivet from the Independent bottler Cadenhead was aged for 12 years in oak, then aged four more years in a Sauternes barrel, a French sweet wine from Bordeaux. This dram was love at second sniff. With a nose of dried pear, cereal, white raisin, caramel, creamed coffee, lemon oil, macadamia, and wax. On the palate I find sweet and tart berries, peaches in cream, cereal, white raisins, white pepper, banana, caramel, lemon oil, ginger, and bitter orange oil.
